Personal points are not planets or zodiac signs, but rather conceptual points that serve to provide significant additional information.
The Ascendant is the zodiac portion of the sky which is on the eastern horizon at the time of birth. It is also referred to as the rising sign. For example, if a person has a Scorpio 
Ascendant, that means at the time of birth, the backdrop stars on the eastern horizon are in the portion of the sky represented by Scorpio. The Ascendant represents the mask a person wears – i.e. how they portray themselves to others – and thus how others see them at the surface level and as a first impression.
The Midheaven is the zodiac portion of the sky which is behind the highest point the sun travels through in the sky on the day of birth. The Midheaven represents the career, the person’s reputation which they develop, positions of power, and what a person is known for.
The North Node is the north side of the line created by the intersection of the plane formed by the Moon circling the Earth and the plane formed by the Earth circling the Sun. The North Node represents the area of life the person innately desires to make progress with during her lifetime.
The South Node is the south side of the line created by the intersection of the plane formed by the Moon circling the Earth and the plane formed by the Earth circling the Sun. The South Node represents the area of a person’s life which, to the person, feels like she has been there before and as a result seems to have well developed instincts in that area.
